Colours of Cuba

Tour Leader: Serge Krouglikoff

This is a ‘bucket-list’ destination for photographers and non-photographers alike. On this 10-day Tour, we take you to hidden locations, uncovering the wonders of real Cuban life, away from the bustle of the newly renovated tourist areas.

The itinerary is a mixture of raw street photography and scheduled photo shoots (pre-arranged locations, models & musicians) to ensure you go home with a wide variety of authentic and iconic shots. This workshop is particularly rich in portraits photography where you will be spoilt for choice.

Stepping back in time, we experience the simplicity of life the way ‘it used to be’; beautiful colonial architecture, from restored palaces to crumbling former mansions; Cubans selling their wares and children playing in the streets or practicing sport in the outdoor gyms in the back streets; Classic 1950s American cars; singers, musicians and dancers and the seldom-visited rural countryside, farms and life on horse-back.

We stay in a 5-star hotel in Havana and a charming, recently renovated, traditional Cuban Hotel in Trinidad, ensuring your comfort.

Create Away has partnered with local people to make this a genuine immersion of Cuban culture, never to forget. In a small group, you will be guided by Serge every step of the way. With his career as a fashion photographer, he will explain how to photograph people and obtain a great portrait. Whilst this tour is not physically challenging, the street photography requires a certain amount of walking around the old towns.

Don’t believe what people say about it being too late to visit Cuba – Create Away’s Cuba steers clear of modern tourism and we are here to help you take away magical & colourful photos of warm, endearing people in a beautiful country.
